Who we are and what your paying for.

Unlike any other aspect of set, point and shoot medical imaging, ultrasound techs roll is to look and hunt down pathology using manually manipulated technology and skills to achieve a successful diagnosis.  

It's our job to find and report abnormalities! 

We image and measure every visual aspect of ultrasound acoustics. It is the job of the tech to measure and report any and all abnormalities  to a qualified medical practitioner.  At times, doctors are dependent on tech's interpretation in emergency and other urgent situations. They are dependent solely on what the tech images and reports to the doctor. Often, doctors reports mirror the techs report. 

Generally only specialists are trained on the ability to read and perform ultrasounds. However, they often lack the exposure and experience that techs are afforded, making the roll of the tech a  highly recognized skill set. Ultimately it's the licensed, qualified practitioner that formalizes the tech's report with a review of the images, report and provided legal signature. 

CMDultrasound provides preliminary ultrasounds similar to cash for service baby imaging facilities around the country, however we specialize in adults.  It's our job to align you with your medical doctor to follow up on potential red flags illustrated on our preliminary tech screening reports.

CMDultrasound also works in several doctors offices since 2002 and provide ultrasound services in formal setting for their patients and qualified insurance billing and reporting.

We are not doctors, however, no other medical professional can compete with the understanding of disease and  pathophysiology relating to ultrasounography like a seasoned ultrasound tech.

On occasion, the question of the practice of medicine is visited.

Simplified :

If you have a headache and  given a Tylenol , that's not the practice of medicine. Using a store blood pressure machine is not practicing medicine. Taking your temp, pulse ox, hearing test, and more is also the same for example.  If done under the understanding however that their a doctor, that's the practice of medicine. Also performing medical invasive procedures legally only allowed by doctors to perform is practicing medicine. 

In the realm of diagnostics, our equipment uses sound to produce images, not radiation, used on babies and is completely safe when employed properly.

Any preliminary tech report abnormalities reported should be followed up by your doctor and by no means infers actual pathology. 

If a preliminary suggestion of an abnormality is found on this tech report, please contact your doctor & give them a copy of this tech report! 

It is the patient’s responsibility to inform their doctor ASAP of any abnormalities suggested in this screen report.

This is a limited & preliminary ultrasound screening tech report & should not be used as a diagnosis. 

Only medical practitioners can diagnose. 

The screening we provide is performed & used as a screening only, not as an actual radiological test. These preliminary tech reports are “Preliminary”. 

All official, formal medical studies require interpretation by a State Licensed Practitioner which we are not.

Preliminary findings will be explained to the patient & instructions to contact their doctor will be highly advised should any preliminary abnormalities be discovered.

We assume no liabilities in the event pathologies are or not discovered or documented. 

We will provide the highest attention in the attempt to discover pathology abnormalities however imaging & diagnostics are technically dependent on internal conditions of the patient. 

Factors affecting imaging include but not limited to non fasting, air/gas, calcification's, patient size, enlargement, thickness, poor acoustics, etc.

This screening will not have any archived images unless you elect to pay for them or you choose to have an official radiology/cardiology read and interpretation though our service. 

If nothing is marked on the worksheet provided, no screening was done &/or screening was found to be normal. 

To address these preliminary tech findings, your doctor may recommend an “OFFICIAL” diagnostic evaluation such as a CT SCAN, MRI, X-RAY, ULTRASOUND, blood work etc. 

Official documentation enables your doctor to properly address concerns through insurance provider channels.

This screen is a cash for service transaction and we do not accept insurance or any government funded programs for payment.  We are not a HIPAA “Covered Entity” and do not fall under HIPAA or Medicare regulations.
